Specialist in Immunohematology. -Chairman of the bachelor’s degree course in medical laboratory sciences of the University of Pisa. - Chairman of the specialization courses in Clinical Pathology (2010-2018). -Member of the Joint Committee of the Faculty of Medicine -Member of the Italian college of the Chairmen of the Bachlor’s courses in Medical Technology Long standing experience in the field of medical education as a teacher and as a course coordinator: Current teaching Activity: Clinical Pathology to medical students and interns of the Faculty of Medicine. Immunology and Clinical Pathology in the bachelor’s and master courses of Biology and Biotechnology. Clinical Pathology in the bachelor’s course for medical technologists. -Member of the Scientific Comittee of the Italian Society for Laboratory Medicine and Translational Medicine -Director of the Interdepartmental research centre for the study of Aging. -Director of the Laboratory of Clinical Pathology of the University Hospital of Pisa. -Strong track record in the pathogenetic mechanisms and clinical biomarkers of cardiovascular and metabolic disease, liver transplantation, development of high sensitivity analytical tools for medical laboratory, biocompatibility of medical devices. Over 140 scientific papers on peer-reviewed journals and several European and US patents in the field of laboratory diagnostics.
